A 1920's Gatsby Inspired Birthday Party At The Ziegfeld Ballroom In Manhattan

They say a little party never killed nobody, so our client Joan decided to host a birthday party that would rival Gatsby’s himself! With dinner, dancing, flapper performers, acrobatics, beads, and music inspired by the roaring twenties, this celebration was an unrivaled spectacle full of sparkle and shine. The event was perfectly held at The Ziegfeld Ballroom in Manhattan; an art deco space inspired by the grandeur of the 1920’s movie palaces that once lined Broadway and Seventh Ave. The amazingly glamorous detailing and design are what set this party over the top. Our team was so excited to get their creativity going as they designed an invitation suite and accessories fit for guests ready for a roaring good time. We even turned this look into a Ceci Collection, shoppable on our website under Gatsby, so that you can make your own unique set just like Joan's!

For Joan's invitation, we wanted to highlight the geometric patterns in many signature deco designs. Shaped in a distinctive die-cut form, this pearl white card featured silver foil bordering and Gatsby type font. The invitation sat within an envelope lined with intricate deco dots, bold lines, and grand curves in silver foil over opal shimmer paper. This print carried onto the back flap of the envelope that framed our custom logo with Joan’s initials in sharp Gatsby style. Playful stamps in black and white were placed on the cover of the suite with the saying “Let’s drink champagne and dance on the tables”. This invitation gave guests just a glimpse into the extravagant party that awaited them.

Upon arrival, guests were greeted with a tower of champagne adorned with our bubble like gold foil stamped escort cards and custom gold foil stamped napkins. Once they stepped into the ballroom, they were transported into a completely luxe, shining show of performers decked from head to toe in pearls and feathers. At their seats, they watched the showgirls in 1920’s fashion kick and twirl around a cage acrobat and contortionists on disco balls. Royal blue, rich purple, and gold lights brightened the entire stage. In the middle of the dancers, Joan and her husband kicked off the party with a few classic dance moves of their own.

Dinner tables were covered in bright blue sparkle tablecloths with shining table settings finished with our deco-inspired circle shaped silver shimmer menus. In the center, larger than life floral arrangements were made from a myriad of magenta, pink, and purple hued roses, orchids, perennials, and hydrangeas. These flowers cascaded down onto the tables where candles gave warmth to the dazzling decor. As guests finished their meals, the showgirls came around to outfit everyone in their party pearls and gleaming beads. Guests were then ready to hop onto the mirror-like dance floor that was covered in our deco patterning and bold custom logo. A live band sang and sang, trumpets, stringed instruments and all, for an unforgettable modern day Gatsby extravaganza.
