JOSH BECKERMAN, MAGIC & COMEDY
Josh Beckerman has been entertaining the masses since the tender age of 4. His verbal dexterity is matched only by his astounding command of sleight-of-hand. He has amused audiences at private parties, weddings, bar/bat-mitzvahs, corporate events, and clubs around the world, and can be seen regularly at parties, events, and restaurants around New York City. Whether you’re entertaining the CEO of a Fortune 500 company or a group of 8-year-olds, Josh will make your party an amazing one. His brand of up-close magic mixed with comic patter makes him a great addition to any special occasion. Josh also writes about restaurants and food for his website www.nycfoodie.com. He is known as the “foodie magician,” and you can find him every night of the week at a different restaurant wining, dining, and entertaining!
“I’m all about authenticity and have an affinity for those who can master their talents. I saw Josh Beckerman perform once and was truly blown away by his skill. If I were to say he has a way with card tricks, it would be an understatement. He has a gift. (Not to mention his love of food, which goes straight to my heart. Maybe he can magically get me a reservation at New York’s most in-demand restaurants!) Hire him for your next event and your guests will be talking for months about his completely unbelievable, jaw-dropping, crowd-pleasing tricks” - CECI JOHNSON
The Foodie Magician, Josh Beckerman’s Tips for Entertaining Vegas Style:
-
Magic as entertainment: If you are going to have a Vegas style party, having a Magician would be ideal. Depending on how large of the event, you can have a stage illusionist who creates large illusions on stage, or go with a walk-around close-up magician, where the magician strolls through your party, entertaining right in front of your eyes, which is much more intimate.
-
Booking magic: When booking a magician, I definitely recommend meeting him or her first, and getting a demonstration. You want to get a vibe of who you are hiring, to make sure they are the right fit for your event.
-
What to expect: Once the magician is at your party, expect your guests to be wowed by amazing sleight-of-hand, mind-reading, and fantastic card tricks. Magic makes everyone smile and think “How’d he do that”. It’s a great icebreaker and will get your guests talking with one another, and excited about the party. People who never met each other are bound to meet and converse, creating new friendships.
-
Ice breakers are magic: Some magician/comedians like myself, will make your guests laugh hysterically, which will add another element to the party. Laughter is contagious.
-
Have some fabulous cocktails: Magic and comedy is always better after a few drinks!

BONUS TRICK:
If hiring a magician is out of your budget, there are plenty of simple tricks you can learn or buy, to perform for your guests on your own. You can go to a magic store and purchase some easy tricks (ask the sales assistant for recommendations), or if you have a regular deck of cards, here is an easy trick to try:
STEP 1: Ask someone to pick a card, and to look at it but not show you.
STEP 2: When they look at the card peek at the bottom card of the deck.
STEP 3: Tell them to put the card on top of the deck, then cut the deck, thus getting the card in the middle.
STEP 4: Since you know what the bottom card is, their card will be to the right (when fanning left to right) of the bottom card.
STEP 5: You can then reveal their card in any witty way you choose!
