Classic Vodka Martini
Maybe it’s the James Bond fan in me. Or maybe it’s the simple elegance of the martini glass and the way it requires you to hold it gracefully. Whatever it is, I adore a martini cocktail. My preference: Dry with three olives equals perfection. I especially love to enjoy one at old-school New York bars like 21 Club or The Four Season’s Restaurant. Channel your inner Bond and give this recipe a try. Enjoy!

Classic Vodka Martini Recipe
Preparation Time: 1 minute
Serves: 1
Ingredients:
2 1/2 ounces vodka (this martini is almost all vodka, so the vodka should be good. I like Stoli Elit, IMPERIA and Ketel One)
1 dash dry vermouth (2-3 drops but not a splash) – a good dry vermouth is Noilly Prat
Lemon peel (normally not a twist) or 3 green olives for garnish (my preference). A cocktail onion is sometimes preferred (I always ask)
Instructions:
Pour vodka and vermouth into mixing shaker.
Add ice and stir to chill (some people, like myself, prefer the vodka martini lightly shaken… you can ask your guests their preference).
Place your choice of garnish in a martini glass and strain the vodka mixture gently over the garnish.
Serve and enjoy your martini and the company of those you share it with!
