4th of July Fruit Salad

My 4th of July fruit salad recipe was inspired by visits to strawberry fields with my family in upstate New York ever since I was a little girl. At backyard barbecues during the summer, fruit salad was often served and became an all-time favorite.
Yield: 6-8 servings
Ingredients:
1 pint of blueberries
1 pint of strawberries (sliced)
1 pint of red apples (sliced)
two tablespoons of lemon juice
1 cup of Cool Whip (or any whipped cream of choice)
Directions:
- In a large bowl, combine blueberries, sliced strawberries, sliced apples and lemon juice.
- Mix together well and refrigerate for 20 minutes to preserve freshness.
- When ready to serve apply Cool Whip (or any whipped cream of choice) on top of each individual serving.
