#CeciMitzvah client, Mia, came to Ceci New York looking for a playful but sophisticated, geometric inspired invitation design that still felt modern for her Bat Mitzvah at the Hudson Mercantile in New York City.
The Ceci design team set out to create a fun pattern that captured all of Mia's wishes, which could be used not only on the save the date, but also on the invitation in a more elevated and refined way. First, it was important to establish a chic palette of gray, gold and rose gold which set the tone for the entire event. We ultimately created a unique webbed pattern that used triangular line-work mixed with confetti and modern graphic florals. For the save the date, we kept the pattern light with full color printing in gold and rose gold tones, while on the invitation, we brought the pattern onto the back and stamped it in gold foil on charcoal gray paper, which truly gives the back design a real luxurious "wow" factor!
For the front of the invitation, we wanted to continue the playful pattern play, but in a more subdued way in order to allow the text to be the focus of the design. We achieved this through pearl foil stamping of the pattern in a border layout, which created a subtle frame around the text. Keeping the text in a block font further gives the invitation design a truly modern look and feel.
The creation of Mia's custom logo was an especially important part of the design process, which you can see the evolution of in the video below. We tried many iterations until the logo was just right. It's a signature touch we offer on our design projects:
Ceci and the design team went through multiple design rounds in order to find the right "M" that hit the level of sophistication and playfulness Mia was going for. The goal for the logo was to not only use it on the event stationery, but to carry it through all the pieces for the party itself! Mia used her final logo on her goodie bags, macaroon favors and more.
Take a look at the final save the date and invitation designs below, along with how Mia's logo was used on various pieces at her Bat Mitzvah!
