Elle has been completely obsessed with rainbows and unicorns for as long as I can remember. With her birthday falling in December, I knew that this could be the perfect theme for an indoor colorful escape for her and her girlfriends to celebrate turning four years old. As I always do when beginning my planning process, I sketched out a magical unicorn party with visions of a giant rainbow arch above the kid's table. This way they could feel like they were really in the clouds! Luckily, my friends at Balloon Design Studio created a grand arrangement that was even better than I could have asked for. I kept it up in my dining room for a week because it was so amazing! All around the room our Ceci New York designs decorated the walls with posters printed with sayings like "Happy as a unicorn eating cake on a rainbow" and lifesize unicorn figures.
I wanted Elle’s unicorn party to allow the kids the freedom to turn their dreams into reality. I think one of the best things about being a kid is having that creative sense of imagination. I organized a handful of activities that let the kids bring their own unique magic to the event! At a long table decorated with rainbow sparkle confetti and glitter linens by my partners at Nuage Designs, I set out super fun unicorn t-shirts from Chalk Of The Town for the kids to draw inside of with washable chalk markers. Once you create your art on the shirt, you can wash it for a completely new unicorn canvas! This was the perfect double of an activity and take-home party gift as well. The girls also had the chance to paint with their own colors of the rainbow on ceramic unicorn figurines. In typical fashion, Elle decided to put every single color on her unicorn haha. We loved watching the kids express themselves artistically!
After crafting, Elle and her friends were treated to manicures and rhinestone makeovers by some of my Team Ceci girls. The kids had so much fun choosing their polish colors and sparkle face paint designs. They couldn’t help but get tons of pictures at the shimmering photobooth by Shake And Share Media with rainbow props. Another balloon rainbow was set up with light-up unicorn statues on both ends! We had an impromptu photo shoot with all the friends and family that came to have a magical time. To round it all out we served up the amazing three-tiered cake from Ana Parzych Cakes that was truly a work of art. The designs from our unicorn prints and watercolor paintings danced around the cake with the most adorable coordinating cake pops, chocolate pretzels, and decorated Oreos from The Poppery.
Since every detail at Elle’s 4th birthday was so dreamy and bright, I knew that she had to have an outfit that shimmered just like the party. We found a fabulous rainbow sparkle covered dress and holographic sequin jacket to match, with a unicorn purse to top it all off. Elle definitely was a little shining star! To coordinate with the birthday girl, I wore a sky blue DVF - Diane von Furstenberg dress with an orange bow belt and my favorite personalized necklace from Tiny Tags with Elle's name engraved on it. It was a magical treat for the kids to enter a unicorn wonderland and celebrate Elle's fourth birthday with all the prettiest colors of the rainbow.
