I've always dreamed of having a little girl and thought of all the fun party themes we could create for her. Butterflies have long been a favorite of mine and Elle too, so we settled on that as our perfect theme for my Ellie's second birthday! As always, I started sketching concepts. I wanted the invitations to be sweet and special but not too over the top. Pastel colors, of course, but mixed with some more saturated hues here and there to give it a little more sophistication.
I narrowed it down to my top 10 butterflies and started watercolor painting them. Elle was very interested in watching me paint and kept coming into my studio to check in on my progress (see below). Once I finished painting them all, they were scanned into the computer and put into the design layouts. Then carried over into the coordinating party decor details like signage, butterfly wands, wings and even custom wrapping paper. I'm crazy about the details and just LOVE to create for our clients but when your "client" is actually your own daughter, I just cant help myself to pour all my heart and soul into the creativity and make it extra special for her.
