As a friend and frequent collaborator of Ceci New York, we were thrilled when event planner Nadine Metgenberg of Fine Weddings & Parties approached us to design the launch party invitations for her new book, the new must have wedding guide!
Nadine wanted her Ceci Couture invitation design to grab the attention of magazine editors and industry people who are invited to many events each year – she was looking for a truly unique concept that would stand out and stop guests in their tracks when they opened the invitation. In order to accomplish this, Ceci and the design team started the design process with a Ceci Couture Concepts Presentation, which allowed us to dream up a variety of custom invitation ideas at varying budgetary levels.
Featuring the artwork from the book cover was a crucial part of the design brief, and one that we made sure to incorporate into each concept. The main goal was to show various brides holding the new book in a creative way! Take a peek at our design presentation for Nadine below:
Ultimately, Nadine chose to move forward with a pop-up invitation concept, which featured a folio construction and was wrapped on the exterior in a Chanel-inspired, white diamond quilted material. The cover of the folio cheekily featured "Going to the Chapel" in rose gold foil stamping. Once opened, the invitation interior featured various bride illustration pop-ups, each holding Nadine's new book and flanking the main bride as the backdrop for the whole scene, which was also the book cover's artwork.
Taking the design a step further, the entire invitation was packaged in a pretty white box and wrapped in a soft, translucent vellum. Inside the vellum, the invitation sat on a bed of little diamonds for a playful touch! The design was mailed with a custom bellyband wrap and featured additional illustration artwork and a soft pink ombre watercolor design.
