Coastal Ranch Inspired Wedding Invitations Complete With Blue Velvet And Wooden Box

lasercut gate wedding invitation in blue velvet

Bob and Adam had visions of a town and country chic wedding that incorporated the natural beauty of Bob’s Indiana roots with an elevated, masculine flair. Their connection to the family of exotic animals they had rescued over the years presented a fun opportunity for us to exhibit their passion project and tell the couple's story. After coming to Ceci New York knowing that we could bring the event to the next level, we sought out to reveal the uniqueness of this couple’s distinctive lifestyle through every detail. Led by their love for animals, earthy style, and sentiment for scenery, we developed an exquisitely polished suite for our client.

We began by presenting the couple with a Couture Concepts Presentation that introduced several themes, textures, and layouts for their suite. By comparing the different styles and even drawing on Bob's favorite shade of blue, we were able to settle on the perfect design with creative personal detailing.

Starting with the save the date, personal touches were sprinkled into the design of each piece. Artwork from the gate at the entrance of their property wrapped along the bellyband that encased the event details, patterned with charcoal shimmer paper and cobalt colored silhouettes.

The Ceci design team wanted to give Bob and Adam an invite that made their guests feel like they were already at the event; surrounded by the natural beauty of the property. We proposed a wooden box design that was encased by a hand calligraphed large geometric bellyband showcasing their estate’s signature crest with a mirroring wax seal to pull through the authentic style of the design. When opened, the box displayed a cobalt blue velvet scene of every animal along with a bed of straw laid beneath the striking invite.

Inspired by the exotic textures of the couple’s theme, the Ceci design team chose a gray woodgrain paper as the cover of their booklet. This provided the perfect subtle backdrop to feature the bold, but classic letterpress logo, embellished with their three dogs in gold foil at the corner of the set. Crafted to look like an antique book, the invite sparked Bob & Adam’s guests to enter into their story with wonder and excitement. Handmade pearl colored paper flowers adorned the cover, with palm leaves mixed into the floral figures to draw on the property’s coastal setting. Since animals were such a significant part of the couple’s life and home, we sought to highlight the menagerie of figures that their property housed. Shapes of flamingos, ring-tailed lemurs, camels, llamas, and kangaroos traced the inside of their folio as the first of two laser-cut layers. The second laser-cut layer folded out from underneath the animals, giving way to a beautiful scene of their estate in Florida where the wedding was held.

Additional detail cards sat within a pocket on the opposite side of the invite complete with an In lieu of gifts card which asked that guests donate to a network of organizations called The Zebra Coalition that provides services to the LGBTQ+ community in Orlando, Florida. Adding personal details like these allowed the couple to share their love for one another and their family in special ways.
