#CeciBride Afton came to us looking for a wedding invitation design that captured a modern geometric, deco vibe combined with her love of laser-cut elements. Her wedding was to take place in the Park City mountains of Utah, so she wanted to incorporate those mountains in the design in an abstract way, since they play such a pivotal role in the natural setting and set the tone for the event. Afton was also looking to keep her color palette in a mix of whites and golds, with strategic pops of burgundy to match her bridesmaids dresses.
After our initial consult with Afton, Ceci and the design team got to work and started sketching out their ideas! The invitation design process started as a Ceci Couture Concepts Presentation, which allowed us to dream up a variety of custom ideas for the couple at varying budgetary levels.

Our Ceci Couture process began with our mood board and color palette studies, which aimed to capture the vibe and general tone of the event. Our typography exploration page also allowed us to provide a variety of script and block font options for Afton to select from.
As we were designing these concepts for Afton, we found that we really liked the idea of a reveal, and were drawn towards playing with this idea through laser cut elements in the design. For example, when the invitation is packaged in the laser-cut sleeve, it allowed the logo on the back of the invitation to be revealed through the window. Additionally, we proposed featuring two tones of gold foil stamping to the invitation back and envelope liner to create added depth and dimension in the artwork through subtle, tonal shifts in color. We also proposed foil stamping the monogram with Afton's initial in one gold color and her fiancé, Colin, in the other gold foil color, to create a feminine/masculine balance.
