Every year, we look forward to designing for The Inner Circle Experience Global Summit. Made for luxury industry professionals and creatives, this event provides us with an opportunity to elevate the looks we are inspired by and create the new standard of design for many of the event industry’s leaders themselves. In 2016, we worked with founder of The Inner Circle Experience Sade Awe, to bring a modern twist to the old classic glam look. Careful to plan for the multitude of events throughout the weekend, we envisioned a cutting edge geometric, yet soft invitation that would seamlessly incorporate the theme into each day. We also created bold evening pieces and delicate daytime accessories to adorn the summit’s variety of meals, speaker sessions, and gatherings.
Our design team took inspiration from Atlanta’s namesake “the Hollywood of the south” and chose to incorporate components that exuded city elite glam. We wanted an invitation that almost allowed the attendees to jump into the event with every layer they unfolded. On the outside, the luxe black envelope was hand calligraphed in rose gold ink. It included a modern diagonally cut flap to mirror the origami lines and juxtapose the ornate nature of what was to come inside. Once opened, a flat, folded origami square slipped out of the envelope that was then wrapped in thin copper wiring which gave a sleek urban vibe to the piece. When unraveled, geometric copper foil patterning on the inside of the paper mirrored the calligraphy and wrap that encased the invitation. The invite itself featured the event details and signature Inner Circle Experience logo with varied metallic flourishes.
Similar to booklets we design for many of our destination weddings, a welcome booklet sat underneath the invitation itself that provided attendees with a schedule of events, background on featured speakers, as well as details about the venue and amenities. To carry our look from the invite to the event accessories, we utilized many of the same mixed metal tones and sharp patterns to flourish rose and shimmer papers (as seen on the welcome booklet).
Our team used over 300 yards of wire, tied 150 copper wire knots, folded 3,000 edges to form each origami wrap, and utilized 22 hands to assemble this suite. Creating invitations like these is a true labor of love. These handcrafted finishes and polished textures made for an extremely unique set of designs that wowed even today's luxury event industry leaders!
